Why did you want to work at 3L Care?

I previously worked in hospitals, in care homes for elderly people with dementia and with young adults with autism.  I really wanted to go back into nursing care. 3L Care was a welcome change and being involved in something new right from the beginning has been fantastic. Having been part of the team when we first opened the doors, I am so pleased with what we have achieved in terms of delivering an outstanding level of care to people with complex health needs. 

What is the best thing about your job?

I love hands-on nursing and caring – the young adults here make it an absolute pleasure to come to work each day. There is a family-friendly atmosphere which is so important for residents, day visitors and their families who trust us with their loved ones. It is never stressful being at 3L Care – we take our time to do things in a calm and pleasant pace which has a profound effect on everyone. Having the support of such an experienced team is very reassuring; everyone is always organized and well-prepared for the day. 

Tell us about a typical working day…

One thing is certain: there’s always lots of laughs! I  When I arrive in the morning I receive a briefing from the night staff about how the young adults have been throughout the night. Along with spending time with the people in our care we look after and maintain the facilities to ensure everything remains in tip top condition. I take great pride in having a clean and safe place to work and try to treat the centre as I would my own home.

Live for the moment, laugh always and love often.

I love dieting. I’m happy-go-lucky. I hate alcohol.
