Why did you want to work at 3L Care? When I enquired about a job at 3L Care I was overwhelmed by how friendly the manager, Kathy and everyone else were. There was a really positive atmosphere and I knew instantly that it was where I wanted to work. After gaining my NVQ I got a job at an elderly home in Derbyshire which was a lovely place. But once I started working with people with learning difficulties in supported living I realised it was an area I was passionate about. The move to 3L Care was the best I ever made. What is the best thing about your job?The people I work with most definitely. Everyone makes a huge effort to create a place that is encouraging, fun and relaxing for both the staff and the service users. I love getting our young adults excited about the day ahead and helping them enjoy life to the fullest. Tell us about a typical working day…If I’m working a morning shift the first thing I do is to catch up with the night staff before they leave. If the weather is nice I might go for a walk with some of the young adults. Otherwise there are so many different activities we can get on with inside and because we all have the time to get to know everyone’s likes and preferences, we can write them a tailored care plan and make sure they have a great day. What does ‘Live Love Laugh’ mean to you?Enjoying life and appreciating all the little moments of joy. Tell us two lies and one truth about yourself…I hate travelling. I love spiders. I am Polish |
