We employ waking, working night staff

At 3L Care we take every step possible to ensure the health, safety and mental well-being of everyone in our care. To us, that means having staff around and awake throughout the night.

Relatives and friends of the people in our care have told us that it makes a huge difference to them knowing that someone is around 24/7 to look after their loved ones.

The staff at 3L Care have extensive experience in caring for adults with complex health needs around-the-clock, including people with (some of the most common conditions here).

We seek to genuinely meet the emotional needs of our residents any time of day. Our philosophy to ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ is embedded into everything we do: day or night. The ability of our carers and nurses to establish a friendly and positive relationship with our young adults – creating a comfortable, homely environment - is absolutely essential.

The people who call 3L Care home, and those who enjoy our over-night facilities for respite, deserve to receive an outstanding level of care: to be treated with respect, dignity and individuality.

At night our waking, working staff provide the same high standard of personal care as our day time staff: placing the same emphasis on physical and mental well-being. They attend to our residents on a individual basis throughout the night.

At 3L Care, all night staff are experienced and trained to ensure the safety of everyone in our care; to take immediate and appropriate action in the event of an emergency. Similarly, where there is a need to administer and record medication, our staff are trained and able to deal with this professionally and with great empathy.

Amongst other things our waking, working night staff:

- Check on all our young people every 30 minutes - sometimes more if appropriate.

- Deliver or monitor overnight feeding via enteral feeding.

- Monitor and troubleshoot people on overnight ventilation.

- Observe for seizures and deliver appropriate rescue medication.

- Carry out any additional nursing procedures required at night time, for example suctioning, delivery of oxygen and saturation monitoring.

- Provide tracheostomy care.

- Give any medication needed during the night.

- Turn residents for pressure area relief.

- Give comfort and drinks to people who can’t sleep.

- Provide individual holistic care to meet every person’s needs.
